Away for a while

I've been M.I.A. for a while, I miss my bloggie buddies! Working through some stuff mentally (dealing with the fact that my hubby dropped 30 lbs since the beginning of the year and left me in the dust...) but still at my practice and teaching!

I'm off to Florida for a few days for some beach time and spring training baseball as a thanks to hubby for looking after things while I was away at training. Here's to some WELL DESERVED VACATION seeing as how I was back at work the Monday after I got home from training.

See you soon!

Ooooh! Beach time! That sounds lovely. Enjoy! As far as the hubby dropping the 30...men really do lose so much easier and faster then women. It's frustrating! I've got 30 to lose myself. Somedays I feel like I will never rid myself of it. Keep your chin up and I will keep mine up too!

thanks catherine and j!

byc... I know guys and girls are different. All I can say is that I'm happy he waited this long to get into the exercise game because at least I have a solid head start and am extremely fit and strong (even if not as svelte as I'd like.)

And... it's not a competition! I have come out of a dark time with lots of dark feelings about it and myself, but am happy to feel like myself again.

This, this, THIS is what is most important. Glad you are feeling like yourself again (as I look forward to getting there myself). :)

My process has been:

1) Reach out for help in a variety of ways. Including telling people I love what is really going on inside (no matter how dark.)
2) Give myself permission to eat.
3) Stock binge foods while trying to maintain my "new normal" with exercise and healthy eating. Exercise brings me good endorphins and I really don't mind it - though I did do less than I had been doing
4) Realize that linear weight loss is not in my repertoire right now (as someone recovering from Compulsive Overeating Disorder) and be OK WITH THAT!
5) Forgive forgive forgive and lighten up

"5) Forgive forgive forgive and lighten up" -- this is a GREAT part of your process. When we forgive, we give ourselves permission to move on and make more progress. Best wishes! Hope you have a marvelous very well-deserved vacation!!
